At the time, Arrow was allowed to leave the field as a free interchange rather than a HIA and returned to the field in the first half.
South Sydney medical staff ultimately did check him for delayed concussion at the break with Arrow subsequently failing the HIA and unable to return to the game. ""He was obviously knocked out in the tackle – he was still conscious.
""I’m making a general point here, you don’t want your players to lay down and you want your players to get up - but he was a lot worse off than he would let anybody know.

We got him in at half-time and the doctor checked him again and that was the end.""Arrow was praised for flagging the eventual effects of his head knock with the NRL Physio posting on Twitter: ""Have to commend Jai Arrow who experienced delayed symptoms after his head knock in the 1st half, so reported them & came off for a HIA. “He copped that really brutal hit, and with concussion and recovery time we always take a cautious approach,"" Rodski said on SEN.
""Paps has had a couple of concussions in the past, there’s certainly no rush.
“He is progressing now, he’s started some light training and I would anticipate if he steps that up in the next three, four weeks, that we’ll see him return when we get back to Melbourne for the Panthers game at the end of July.
“There’s no rush, his health and his welfare is the most important thing, but that was a bad concussion.”"

Much has been made about when the No.1 pick will make his AFL debut, with Luke Beveridge telling reporters he was getting closer after his strong form in the reserves. Subbed out of the game for Sam Petrevski-Seton, Silvagni will not be able to partake in Sunday’s clash with Melbourne as per AFL protocols.“We saw Jack had some concussion symptoms at the time,” Director of High Performance Andrew Russell said. “He pulled up pretty well after it. He’ll go into the 12-day concussion protocol and hopefully we will see him out there in two weeks’ time again.”Silvagni could be replaced in the selected line-up by Marc Murphy, with the veteran on track to return from neck soreness which has ruled him unavailable for the last fortnight.

"Cowboys captain Jason Taumalolo took a hit-up in the 66th minute and clashed heads with Warriors second-rower Ben Murdoch-Masila, before thudding his left forearm into his face as he crashed to the turf.
A sea of Warriors fans erupted as replays on the big screen showed that Taumalolo had appeared to purposefully strike Murdoch-Masila with his forearm moments after the head collision, which had left the bulldozing Warrior flat on his back. Matt Buntine also suffered a concussion in the same game and will undergo the usual 12-day concussion protocols. “We’ll assess Matt as he goes but he’s feeling good which is great,” Ball said. “He'll obviously be unavailable this week and then we’ll see how his testing goes next week.”

"Mayne was collected in the head by Charlie Cameron’s swinging arm when he went low to the ground in the third quarter and had no desire to head off the ground. He lay on the turf for long enough to create genuine concern about his condition, and even Cameron knelt down to see if his opponent was OK. The Pies medicos rushed out and tried to get him off the field so they could conduct a head injury assessment. However, Mayne got back on his feet and wanted to keep playing, demanding to take the ensuing free kick.He argued with the Collingwood medical staff and yelled at the umpire to give him the Sherrin, as the official held possession and looked to the trainer for guidance about whether Mayne was OK to carry on. The 32-year-old stayed on the ground for another couple of minutes before eventually being escorted to the sideline. He appeared to have a heated exchange with Collingwood doctors before the club confirmed he had been taken to the rooms to be assessed.
Geelong icon Cameron Ling said in commentary for the ABC Mayne should not have been allowed to stay on when the doctor tried to pull him off. “The doctor has to take over there,” Ling said. “That is one argument that should never ever be won by the player.” Channel 7 commentator Brian Taylor added: “That is amazing, because he spent another couple of minutes on the ground after he was asked to come off.” Mayne was seen in the huddle at the end of the third quarter and ran back to the bench before the bounce, but had been given the all-clear to continue.
Just before the season started the AFL rushed through a rule change that would allow clubs to use an injury substitute if a player was ruled out of a match with concussion or any other impairment. "Mayne was floored at Pies training on Tuesday morning and was assisted from the field by two club medical staff.
Due to the AFL's new protocols that force a player into a mandatory 12-day break following a concussion, Mayne is expected to sit out Friday's hitout with Geelong and the March 5 AAMI Community Series clash with Richmond."
"May copped contact to his head during a fourth-quarter marking contest in his side's AAMI Community Series loss to the Western Bulldogs on Monday.

The star No. 1 showed no signs of memory loss nor headaches when he reported to Roosters HQ on Monday. Provided he has no headaches for the remainder of the week, and passes an independent doctor’s assessment on Thursday, Tedesco will be given every chance to take his place at the back against the Knights.
Tedesco was knocked out by Parramatta cult hero Maika Sivo when trying to stop a try in round six last year, and again in a collision at Suncorp Stadium during the Origin decider last November. Chiefs loose forward Luke Jacobson has suffered another concussion setback and will miss Friday night’s Super Rugby Aotearoa clash with the Hurricanes in Hamilton.
“He’s in there in the gym this morning, [but] given his history of taking a few dings, we want to be extra cautious, but he’s looking fine,” McMillan said on Wednesday. “He woke up on Sunday and felt a little bit dusty, so straight away, we ruled him out for the week.” McMillan said there was no major concern for Jacobson – “he’s looking as bright as anything” – and the 24-year-old was close to being rested after playing 80 minutes in all six of the Chiefs’ matches this year. “This little setback is timely, I think, because we probably would have considered giving him some time out either this week or next,” McMillan said.
Jacobson’s wretched run of injuries stretches back to his debut year with the Chiefs in 2018. A concussion in the final round of the regular season then also kept him out of the Mitre 10 Cup. In 2019, he suffered further head knocks at Chiefs training and in the warm-up to an All Blacks test against the Springboks. An onset of concussion symptoms then ruled him out of the World Cup and last year he tore a hamstring, twice, then broke his hand.

The Bulldogs were issued with a breach notice from the NRL on Thursday after an investigation into the incident in which Lewis copped a knock to the head while attempting to tackle South Sydney winger Josh Mansour.
Lewis fell to the ground and then struggled to stay on his feet once he made his way up off the turf.
He had to be helped by Rabbitohs players before a Bulldogs trainer came over for a closer look.
Despite the clear protocols around concussion, Lewis remained on the field for two minutes before a club trainer came back onto the field to take the five-eighth off for a head injury assessment.
Lewis failed his HIA test and was ruled him out for the remainder of the match.
